The brief
Adega de Penalva asked us to look at its existing Bag-in-Box range and rethink how the product appeared on the shelf.
The new packaging needed a stronger, more coherent presence at retail, while remaining practical to produce, assemble, transport and display — and, as a commercial wine product, it had to carry all mandatory legal information without letting the functional details take over the design.
The approach
We began by reviewing the existing Bag-in-Box portfolio and how the products worked together as a range. From there, we proposed a new visual direction built around stronger contrast, clearer hierarchy and a more recognisable presence.
The graphic system was then adapted to the structure of the box, accounting for every visible panel, opening point and production constraint.
The finished work
The final 5L Bag-in-Box was produced in B-flute corrugated board, finished with water-based varnish and an automatic-lock bottom for efficient assembly.
The result is a functional retail package with a clearer identity across every side — from the main display panel to the information and serving areas.
